Card Applicator

Affix:
  • Plastic Cards
  • Rolodex Cards
  • Stencils
  • Tickets
  • Decals
  • Envelopes
  • Post Cards

Affix business and promotional items to continuous forms with the Tamarack Card Applicator. The card applicator offers versatility and productivity in the value-added affixing market.

The Tamarack Card Applicator is an off-line pack-to-pack machine. The carrier web enters the cold glue applicator and receives a dot pattern of glue. Cards and other items are then affixed to the moving web at speeds up to 300 items per minute per head, with +/- 1/32" registration. Reliable refolding is provided by an oscillating chute with descending tray. In-line configurations are also available.

Single or multiple ply continuous forms can be run one- or two-wide through the Tamarack Card Applicator. Many features provide fast set-up. And two convenient control stations allow the card applicator to be run easily by one operator.

Pattern Glue Applicator
  • Fast Set-Up

  • Prints Glue Pattern For All Repeat Lengths

  • Options Available to Save Operator Time
Tamarack's cross-web glue applicator prints any pattern of cold glue on the continuous form. Simple fountain, impression, and running registration adjustments provide quick set-up. Gluing for all repeat lengths is possible using interchangeable plate cylinder assemblies, from 7" to 22" in circumference.

The glue applicator can be equipped with impression and fountain cylinder throw-off with auxiliary drive to reduce operator time and attention during set-up and operation. An optional glue pump system can also be included to maintain the glue supply to the pan, saving operator time.

Card Feeder Heads
  • Affixes cards 2-1/8" x 3-3/8" and 1-3/4" x 3-1/2"

  • Speeds up to 300 cards per minute per feeder head

  • Accuracy +/- 1/32"

Card feeder heads are designed specifically to affix the most popular sizes of plastic or paper identification cards.

Set-up is simple and quick. Adjustments accommodate card thickness from .008" to .030". Each card feeder head has running registration to adjust the card position on the form. The transport base allows up to four card feeder heads, placing cards in virtually any position on the form.

Variable Feeder Heads
  • Affixes items 1-1/2" to 9" wide and 1-1/2" to 7" long

  • Set-up features for a variety of materials

  • Speeds up to 300 items per minute per feeder head
The variable feeder head affixes plastic and paper cards, envelopes, decals, rolodex cards, stencils, post cards, and a variety of plastic products.

Many set-up features allow items of different sizes and materials to be accurately affixed. Adjustments on each side of the piece can be set independently to control feeding. A wide or narrow vacuum set-up can be selected depending on material characteristics. Set-up and material feeding can be tested prior to webbing the machine. The variable feeder head has running registration to adjust the item's position on the form.

The transport base accommodates two variable feeder heads for one- or two-wide operation.

Refolder and Descending Tray
  • Easy set-up

  • Refolds forms for easy handling

The oscillating chute refolder adjusts without tools for fold lengths 6" to 22". The form drops directly into a pack on the descending tray, allowing the adhesive to dry with minimal disturbance to the card/form combination. The descending tray's rate of descent is easily adjusted and is linked to the web speed, providing refolding into a consistent pack height.

An optional infeed conveyor provides space for splicing packs together and jogs packs into position for affixing.
